Get to Know Michelle

Born and raised in New Haven county, Michelle Parente is an elected official, serving in her 2nd term on the Milford Board of Aldermen. She currently chairs the Ordinance committee which deals with new city ordinances, including everything from bonding, economic development, taxation, schools and environmental regulation. Michelle is a Milford homeowner and mom of a child in the public school system who is also a long time political strategist and nonprofit consultant who has done work in Connecticut, California and Colorado.

Michelle is a consensus builder who consistently works with colleagues on both sides of the political aisle to move forward on important pieces of legislation. She is also committed to open, clean government where transparency and accountability are real. In her municipal role, Michelle closely examines where public investment and taxpayer funds are going to make sure all public dollars are well-spent.

Michelle intends to bring this same level of scrutiny and professionalism to Hartford, representing the best interests of all her constituents and challenging her fellow legislators and the gubernatorial administration to make smart investments to preserve the special character of Connecticut: improving our schools, unclogging our roads, supporting our small businesses, reducing environmental pollution and making our coastline more resilient.

The proud daughter of an Italian immigrant and a former Orange public school teacher, Michelle Parente honors the traditional values of loyalty to friends and family, public service, taking care of our elders, and dedication to community. Michelle has also seen and participated in innovative solutions from other parts of the country aimed at reducing youth and gun violence, promoting sustainable economic development, and building inclusive communities where every child can live in safety and learn in the best environment. Michelle is a hard worker and a good listener who takes nothing for granted and will earn every vote in Milford and Orange. Please join our campaign!
